Interview with Shogo Hayashi, CEO of Denyu-sha

... Emurasoft

Please tell us about your company and its main product?

Our services include planning and development of gaming software, and system integration for corporate clients. One of our strengths built on is that we are capable of developing various kinds of software from consumer games to wireless devices regardless of the type of the platforms.

In addition, through working for major game developers such as Nintendo Co., Ltd, Square Co., Ltd., and the Pokemon Company, we have gained more of the know-how to produce high quality software than other game developers.

The major products we have developed are the followings:

NARUTO (Play Station)
Dice de Chocobo (PlayStation)
Pokemon Party Mini (The Pokemon Company)
Pokemon Zany-Cards (The Pokemon Company)
ShadowFlare (Windows)

Could you tell us about your major clients?

Square Co., Ltd
The Pokemon Company
Nintendo Co., Ltd.

Please tell us what motivated you to localize and market ShadowFlare into the U.S. market?

Domestically ShadowFlare was successful, and we were curious to see how U.S. audiences would react to the game. Because of the recent success of other action/role playing games in the US, we decided to release the game in the U.S.

Why did you choose Emurasoft in order to localize ShadowFlare?

When we discussed the possibility of the localization with Mr. Yutaka Emura and other Emurasoft employees, we felt that they were a responsible company and we could trust them for this project.

What was the merit for you to localize ShadowFlare into English.

We were able to increase the visibility of our company as well as the game itself in the English speaking countries.

How would you evaluate the work by Emurasoft? How were you satisfied with the quality of the work?

We felt Emurasoft was very reliable and could trust it. Also we were very satisfied with the work done by Emurasoft since they performed the localization work in a professional manner.

Thank you very much for having the interview with us!
