Emurasoft, Inc. announced
the beginning of academic licensing that will allow students and faculty
members to use the company¡¯s text editor, EmEditor, free of charge.
EmEditor can be used for non-commercial research and educational
purposes by qualifying individuals and institutions. Emurasoft, Inc.
hopes that academic licenses for EmEditor will prove valuable to
students and faculty, especially those involved in the computer science
and engineering fields. Qualifying students and faculty members can
obtain EmEditor Academic Licenses by registering at
http://www.emurasoft.com/academic/.
¡°I understand that academic
institutions and students have very real budget constraints and this is
our way of supporting those users. Hopefully, many will find EmEditor
useful as their primary tool for software development,¡± said Yutaka
Emura, president of Emurasoft, Inc.
Due to its small-memory use
and fast load time, large portions of the technical and research
communities around the world have adopted EmEditor. In addition to the
use of it as a note pad replacement for everyday uses, text-editing
software is an essential tool for science and engineering majors. The
company is hoping that the new licensing will benefit future computer
scientists and engineers.
General Information:
University departments can utilize EmEditor in the following ways:
1. By installing EmEditor in computer labs for student and faculty use.
